New BMW M550i Ready to Roll
The automotive industry hasn’t seen an M badge on the 5 Series sedan in more than 30 years, but that’s about to change. Now five generations past the first M5, the new BMW 5 Series is ready to rule the road once again. The new BMW M550i is the fastest model yet, but there’s more to come later this year.
The BMW M550i boasts a V8 engine that delivers 456 horsepower and smashes 60 mph in less than four seconds. That’s faster than the outing M5, but there’s more. A sport suspension, an updated braking system, and all-wheel drive system come standard as well.
A part of the M Performance series, the M550i sits between a sporty, performance-driven car and a track-oriented model. The upcoming BMW M5 bridges that gap with relative ease.
The BMW M5 is said to arrive later this year and brings standard all-wheel drive paired with an engine that delivers around 600 horsepower. Dubbed M xDrive, the all-wheel drive system allows drivers to choose between four-wheel drive modes as well as shift into rear-wheel drive.
A brand known for performance and precision handling, BMW may have outdone itself with the latest addition to the M Performance lineup.
We here at Orange County BMW are pumped to see the M Performance line continuing to grow!
