Spring Camping Near Harriman, New York

Harriman State Park is the perfect resource to satiate all of your outdoor needs, from boating to birdwatching to camping. Set up your tent near one of the 31 lakes and then head off to explore the 200 miles of trails that the park has to offer.
If you want to try something out of state, New Jersey’s High Point State Park is just 40 minutes away. This park offers quiet campgrounds, scenic hiking, and a 20-acre spring fed, lifeguarded lake–perfect for swimming on hot days.
For something primitive, drive north to Sundown Wild Forest in the southern Catskills. Set up your campground in the heart of the wild forest in the morning and then spend the afternoon exploring the many trails the forest has to offer. Come back in time to get a fire going and cook your dinner under the stars.
